Way To Go :: Basicgrey Layout

Posted by scrapbook on June 13, 2009 under Page Idea, layout | Be the First to Comment

Today I come to you guys with a new Basic Grey page. I absolutely fell in love with this page as soon as I saw it! What a perfect layout showing the accomplishments of a young child, working hard towards one more step in the growing up process. Everyone goes through these moments. So whether it’s a first day of school, a loose tooth etc. this layout is perfect for those major accomplishments. In the layout and directions below, you put different letters from the Lime Rickey monogram stickers, and put them onto the 7”x12” piece of Deep Blue. This works great for the school related pages, but what takes away from the point of other non-school related accomplishments. My suggestion? Instead use a favorite stamp and lime green paint, or some other element stickers. That way you still have the cute, and innovative background paper, while not distracting the viewer from the real theme of your page! Enjoy Scrappers!

Trim the bar code tab from Blue Moon. Trim of 1/4” inch and mount the piece to a 12×12 piece of white cardstock, centering it left to right.

Trim a 8½”x12” piece of Catawba Flip. Adhere this piece to the layout, 2¾” from the left edge.

Trim a 7¾”x12” piece of white cardstock. Using scallop scissors, trim of both long edges, moving the scissors in and out for an irregular edge. Adhere this piece to the center of the Catawba Flip piece.

Trim a 7”x12” piece of Deep Blue. Referring to the photo, arrange several of the large monogram stickers across the top 2” and bottom 3½” of the Deep Blue piece, trimming off excess along the edges. Adhere this piece to the center of the white scalloped cardstock.

Trim a 7”x7” piece of white cardstock and adhere it to the Blue Moon/ monogram piece, 1¾” from the top edge. This will cover up a small portion of the monogram stickers above and below.

Using a blue journaling pen, draw a dashed line inside the bottom edge of the 7”x7” piece of white cardstock.

Using foam pop dots, adhere both photos to the layout, aligning the top edge of the photos with the top edge of the 7”x7” piece of white cardstock.

Journal in the area between the photos and the hand-drawn dashed line as desired.

Cut a 3” circle from white cardstock. Trim off 3/4” from the circle and discard. Adhere the partial circle to the left edge of the Catawba Flip piece, 2½” up from the bottom edge.

Using a blue journaling pen, draw a dashed line along the interior edge of the partial circle.

Apply the shooting star element sticker at an angle, with the bottom of the sticker beginning at the bottom, left corner of the 7”x7” piece of white cardstock.

Apply the shooting star rub-on below the shooting star sticker. Cut out a star from Banana Frost and place it over the star rub-on, if desired.

Using green letter stickers, spell out “Way 2 Go” along the curve of the partial circle as shown.

Referring to the photo, snip apart the swirl Bling It pattern with fine tip scissors to create four pieces. Apply as shown above the shooting star element sticker.
