 Now that spring is finally here, I love to take pictures of the flowers in boom. This new layout heather made displays them beautifully! This new page was made using a combination of different scrapbooking companies. This layout is all about flowers and many different flowers were used. You get to learn how to make all of them and more right here on this blog. Another thing that we used a lot of in this layout is the i-topper. The i-topper is a brad-making tool from chatterbox. This tool is a super fun way to create personalized brads in a few easy steps. The i-topper can work with mostly any material, including: candy wrappers, fabric, ribbon, paper, photos and much more. In this layout, we mostly made paper brads. The i-topper can really add that extra something to a layout or page!

Here’s how to put this page together:

step one: use cream cardstock as base page.

step two: cut brown cardstock th 9 1/4″ x9 1/2″ and adhere to right side of page.

step three: cut floral patterned paper to 9″x 9 1/4″ and adhere on top of  brown cardstock.

step four: cut green cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and adhere on top of floral patterned paper.

step five: adhere cream journaling block on top of green cardstock and to right side of page.  

step six: adhere die cut “f” to top left corner of the layout.

step seven: using a pink  marker color white alphabet stickers pink and add to title, finishing the word “flowers”.

step eight: add brads and flowers to layout. 

Here are the insructions to creating a variety of  Fabulous Flowers:

1.  The Fabric Yo-Yo Flower

Using fabric, thread, needle and button, cut a piece of fabric into a 3 ½” circle. Thread needle and tie a knot at the end. Run needle through fabric about ¼” from the top sewing around entire circle. Gently pull thread so that fabric begins to gather and form a circle. Once the fabric is gathered tie a knot at the end and cut off excess thread. Embellish with a button or an i-top brad.

2. The Ribbon Flower

Cut a 12” piece of satin or sheer ribbon. Thread a needle and tie a knot at the end. Run a needle through the fabric about ¼” from the edge. Gently pull the thread to gather the ribbon into a circle, tie a knot at the end and cut off excess thread embellish with a button or an i-top brad.

3. Layered Chipboard Flower

Layer silk or paper flowers with buttons and chipboard.

4. Layered Button Flower

Layer multiple button sizes on top of each other.

5. Fan Fold Flower

Cut two 2” x 12” pieces of patterned paper. Fan fold each piece of paper every ½” and adhere both ends together. Place a small amount of glue on a piece of paper of cardstock and press the center of the flower into adhesive. Place some weight on the flower until adhesive is dry. Add a button to the center of the flower.

6. Flower from Grosgrain Ribbon

Draw a spiral shape in pencil on either your layout or base page. Cut a 14” piece of ribbon and adhere ¼” super tacky tape to the backside of the ribbon. Starting from the outside edge and following your pattern, adhere ribbon to page, folding ribbon every ½”. Continue to center of flower. Embellish with a button or an i-top brad.

7. Flower from paper strips

Cut ¼” strips from patterned paper and adhere on top of each other to create this flower.  Embellish with a button or an i-top brad.

8. 5-Petal Flower Pattern

Materials: any size crochet hook (depending on what size flower you want), any weight yarn.

Rnd 1: Ch 5 join into a ring w/sl st in 1^st ch.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 9 dc in ring, join to top of ch w/sl st—10 sts.

Rnd 3:  **Ch 2 work 3 dc in next st, ch 2 sl st in next st** five times. Fasten off

For a different color center, try changing yarn colors after found 2. Experiment with different weight yarns and hook sizes. To layer a slightly smaller flower on top, go down one hook size from larger flower.

9. Stacked Flowers

Stack flowers from tissue paper, patterned paper and felt. All flowers and materials are either punched or cut from circles and layered.

10.  The Fabric Flower-using fabric

Cut fabric 1 ½” wide and 14” long. Begin with center of the rose by folding down one end of the strip on an angle and then fold fabric in half. The flower is formed by twisting and folding fabric into a spiral formation.

Directions:

Steps For Multi-medium collage grunge:

1. Apply a thin layer of multi-medium over grungepaper
2. press papers to grunge and burnish with your fingers and allow this to dry.
3. die cut the grungepaper using the tattered floral alterations die.

Steps for distressing grunge:

1. tap the ink blending tool on to the distress pad.
2. rub the tool on to the grungepaper flowers.
3. change blending tools when changing color palettes and continue inking the grungepaper flowers until your desired look is achieved.
4. ink all the flowers following previous steps.
5. turn the grungepaper daisy flower over and ink the back with using distress and ink blending tool.
6. apply a dab of rock candy distress stickles to your finger and lightly dab on parts of the grungepaper flowers
7. dry the distress stickles with a heat tool.

Steps for putting it together:

1curl the petals of the largest flower under by rolling each petal with your fingers toward the bottom center of the flower.
2. curl the petals of the daisy flower up following the same steps.
3. curl the petals of the smallest flower up following the same steps.
4.adhere all 3 flowers together from smallest to largest with a dot of glossy accents.
5.place flower on a cork mat and pierce a hole through the center with a push pin.
6.insert a clutch pin through the hole.
7. assemble type charm with letter of choice and epoxy with charm on the bottom.
8. adhere type charm to clutch pin with glue dot.

I just made a tag book from Creative Imaginations line, “Magic”. “Magic”, by Creative Imaginations, is made especially to coordinate perfectly with disney theme parks and products. This line is a perfect way to scrapbook your disney pictures.

Here are instructions on how to make this super cute “magic” tag book:

Materials:
3 large CCafe Tags-red spirit #18089
2 large CCafe Tags- nuetral #18168
1 large CCafe Journaling Tag- red #22523
1 small binder ring- white #21048
3 CCafe black buttons (1 large, 2 small)

Supplies Needed:
12″ Paper trimmer
glue sticks
glue dots
crop-a-dile
stapler
black ZIG pen for outlining

Instructions:

1. alternate the large red, white and nuetral tags and bind them togetherusing the white binder ring.
2. use three black buttons on the coverof the book, to create a mouse head. affix the buttons with glue dots to the cover page.
3. decorate or journal on each tag, adding photos to every other tag.
4. cut various lengths of ribbon in coordinating colors and textures and tie to the white binder ring. use the creative cafe tickets, magic epoxy and oher magic stickers as embellishments!

What an ADORABLE mini album! Baby mini albums have always been my favorite, and this new Making Memories line is PERFECT for creating an adorable album for your little one. The new line is called Pitter Patter. We carry tons of brads, stickers, and other embellishments that coresspond with this line, but putting them all together is the fun part! I have the instructions typed below, or you can click on the picture below to see the orginals!! Heather made this album while at CHA, and ever since we’ve had this line in its been flying off the shelves. We thought that this mini album would be a good source of ideas, for those who might have been stumped!

Slice-Cutting (Baby Card):
1. insert the Baby design card and cut a 3″ baby onesie on the right side of one of the 6″h x 9″w kraft pieces. Position the slice at the top of the page as shown above. the top edge of the cardstock should be in line with the blue/pink edge of the slice. The right edge of the cardstock shoul dbe in line with the right edge of the label on the back of the Slice.
2. Die-cut the word ‘baby’ at 3″ out of kraft cardstock.
3. die-cut a 3″ baby rattle out of kraf tcardstock and out of solid blue patterened paper preserving text block to use on front cover.
4. Die-cut  two 1& 1/2″ hands out of orange newsprint patterned paper. Use the mirror function for one hand. Die cut on FAR left or right side of paper preserving center section.
5. Deboss a 2 1/2″  bow on white or silver metallic paper then use shawdow feature to cut out the bow.
           -To do this, place metallic paper facing up on embossing mat. Lightly trace around Slice machine with pencil before debossing. After switchingto the cutting blade and selecting the shadow feature, place slice exactly where you traced. Remember to turn your mat over for the glass & embossing sides!
6.Die-cut a 2 1/2″ heart diaper pin  out of kraft cardstock
7.Die-cut a pin using the shadow feature out of orange newsprint patterend paper.

Animal Crackers Card:
1. Insert Animal Crackers card and die cut a 2″ arrow out of blue check patterend paper cutting on FAR left or right side preserving the center section.
2.Die-cut a 2″ star button out of glittered trails patterened paper.
Die-cut a 3″ open scalloped circle out of stars patterned paper,

Embellish Your Die Cuts:
1. Create a shaker box out the baby rattle.
        a. Trace circle part of kraft rattle on orange newsprint patterned paper then cut.
        b. Cut off handle portion of blue baby rattle. Glue circle portion to rattle on transparency then cut and glue to the kraft side of the blue/kraft rattle.
        c. Place thin strips of foam tape all around edge of orange circle.
        d. Add white beads inside foam tape.
        e. Place kraft/blue/transparency rattle on top of foam tape, making usre all the edges are sealed.
        f. Wrap star brad around hangle, tucking prongs up so they are not seen.
2. Paper piece safety pin:
       a. Cut heart portion from orange safety pin and adhere to kraft safety pin.
       b. Add star brads, tucking prongs up so they are not seen

Assemble Album:
1. Fold six of the nine 6″h x 9″w kraft cardstocks in hald, then die-cut onesie piece.
2. Punch a 1″ hald circle in the top right side on one of the kraft blocks.
3. Adhere to a 6″h x 9″w unfolded kraft piece one hald of one folded block (#1) to the back left side. Repeat the same with the right side (#2) making sure uncreased edges meet in the middle. Reinforce the back section by adhering a 6″h x 9″w to the base creating a seamless black portion.

Left Side Pages of the Album:
1. Adhere a folded blakc (3#) on top of the first block (#1) that was glued to the left side.
2. glue the sides and bottom of the onesie die cut page (#4) to the top folded block (#3), creating a see-through poket page

Right Side Pages of the Album:
1. Take the folded block with the half circle punched out on the right side (#) and glue the LEFT side of the block on top of block #2.
2. Glue the sides and bottom of the half-circle side to another folded block creating a poket page.

The Left and Right Covers:
1. Cut the last 6″h x 9″w kraft block in half and adhere to the front of the book to reinforce.

Add Patterned Papers:
-Cover of Album:
1. Adhere two 5 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w circle patterned papers to the front of the book, centered on each page.
2. Adhere a 2 1/4″h x 3 1/4″w text patterned paper block to the front left of the cover at an angle.
3. Adhere a 6″h x 12″w organge diagonal patterned paper to the back pf the album wrapping around the left and right sides of the book.
-Left Side Pages of Album:
 1. Page One: Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w text paper to the center of the page.
2. Page Two: adhere the two 1″h x 4 1/2″w strip deco papers to the page 1/4″ from the to pand 1/4″ from the bottom.
3. Page Three: adhere the 4 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w alpha block paper to the center of the page.”
4. Page Four” Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 2 1/4″w stripe paper to the center of the page. Cut the orange circle paper for the pocket. Glue the sides and bottom to page four, creating a pocket.
-Right Side Pages of Album:
1. Page one: adhere the 5 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w animal paper to the center of the page.
2. Page Two: Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w growth chart patterned paper to the center of the page.
3. Page Three: Adhere tje 5″h x 4 1/4″w stripe patterned paper 1/4″ from the bottom.
4.  Page Four: Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 4 1/4″w blue word paper to the center of the page.
-Back Pages Of The Album:
1. cut off the edges of the 5 3/4″h x 12″w Sweet  Baby Paper. Cut the right side between the T and E in “Gazette.” Cut the left side between the S and W in “sweet.”  Save all the pieces.
2. Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 8 3/4″w Sweet Baby paper to the center of the page.
3. Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 3 1/2″w orange diagonal stripe patterned paper to the left and right pages.
4. Adhere the end pieces of the sweet baby patterned paper to the indise of the left and right pages.

Create Tags:
1. Adhere the 5 3/4″h x 3 1/2″w star patterned paper to a 6″h x 3 1/2″w kraft cardstock.
2. Adhere the 5 1/2″h x 3 1/2″w blue mini check paper to a 6″h x 3 1/2″w kraft cardstock.
3. Adhere the 4 3/4″h x 3 1/2″w orange diagonal paper to a 5″h x 3 1/2″w kraft cardstock.
4. Add a tab to the star tag y cutting two blokcs from the alphabet block apper. Adhere these back to back then adhere to the top of the star tag.

Decorate Your Album:
1.Select stickers and put on solid patterned paper or cardstock then cut out shape and adhere to album.
2. Adhere die-cuts to your album. Use foam tape on shapers for added dimension.
    a. “Baby” letters on cover.
    b. Baby Rattle on cover.
    c. Hands on right page 2.
    d. Bow on left page 4.
    e. Arrow on right page 4.
    f. Scalloped circle on left page 5.
    g. Star on right page 5.
    h.Heart pin on right page 5.
    i. Adhere trim, flet embellishments, button, and photos.

Today i come with a tag idea. I am in love with Tim Holtz’s projects and just about died when i saw how gorgeousthis one was. It combines some bling with Tim’s signature grunge flowers. I think that the end product is amazing and i perfect for a layout, or even as a gift tag. Plus its fun to create and you learn a lot about the products!

Hello Bloggers!!

I feel like its been ages since i updated, and i am so sorry! We had some technical problems and were not able to access the blog for a while. But we’re back!! The last few months are best selling item has been Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist!! I have to say it is one of my all time favorite tools, and have not been surprised at how well this has been selling. At CHA , Heather was given the opportunity to become “Certified” in the art of glimmer mist! Today I am going to share EVERY tip, trick and technique you could possibly want! (P.S. Click on the picture to see a full size version)

Technique #1: Controlled Spraying:

Tip#1:

Spray your glimmer mist by only pushing half way so as to allow the glimmer mist to project in small quantities, creating a droplet effect.  You can also achieve this by using your other hand to guide the sprayer gently down a little slower than a regular spray.

Tip #2:

Start by gathering your favorite Glimmer mist colors. Spray your mist at a close range so as to allow the glimmer mist to fully spray in a concentrated portion on to your page. By using mnay colors, multiple times you can achieve a beautiful background for your latest scrapbook page.  The farther aways your sprayer is to the page, the finer the mist will be.

Tip #3:

Apply your glimmer mist in a fine mist to prevent large spots or dots of glimmer mist. To achieve this, you will place your project on a mat. Start your spray of glimmer mist on the mat, so that the beginning of your spray falls onto the mat instead of your project. You will then proceed to allow the tail end of of your spray falls onto your project in a fine application. You can continue to repeat this to build up a solid background that will be evenly distributed and without large droplets. Because of the nature of using a sprayer applicator, the force of the beginning of the spray gathers larger amount of glimmer mist in droplet portions and forces it out in the initial part of your spray. Allowing this part of your spray to fall onto your misting mat as opposed to your project allows you to use the tail end of the spray (the finer mist) to your benefit.

Tip #4;

Using one color of glimmer mist, apply a heavy application to your project, this will completely and evenly add glimmer mist to your project.

Technique #2: Color Patterns:

Tip#5:

Use the same technique seen in tip #3, but use a variety of colors to customize the background. This will give you a soft background you can use for any occasion.

Tip #6

Use a variety of colors, and apply them at a close range quickly adding color to color. After you page is full of mist, it will appear like a pool of mist on your page. From here take a paper towel and lay it completely over your page and from the inside towards the outer edges; you will press your paper towel down, so to absorb any excess moisture. After the excess is gone, you will notice that the page will have the effect of a water colored background, where all of the colors are blended together to create a soft beautiful finish.

Tip #7:

Gather three glimmer mist colors. Preferably a light, medium and dark color. Stating with the lightest color on top, medium color in the middle and the darkest color on the bottom, layer the colors evenly across the page. Now blend the colors together by taking a paper towel. Starting at the lightest color, pull your paper towel down towards the darkest color. If you need to repeat this to continue to blend the colors, use a clean part of your paper towel, so to not contaminate your lighter colors with your darker ones. This will give you a blended effect that will smoothly add glimmer to any project.

Tip#8:

For this technique you will use a piece of stiff lace as a mask to create a faux lace page. You will start by laying a stiff piece of lace and lay it down on your page. You will want to make sure that your page and your lace are perfectly flat. To apply the glimmer mist use tip #3, to create a fine mist over your project. Make sure that your sprayer is about 8 inches away from your project to create your fine mist. Make sure to not over saturate, so you can create the crispest image. What is nice about using the lace and this technique, is that you are creating a beautiful faux lace page, but you also come away with a new colored lace that can be used on future projects.

Technique #3: Textures:

Tip #9:

For this technique, use a sponge to create a faux finished background. To achieve this you can use a natural sponge by applying glimmer mist directly to the sponge and then using the sponge as an applicator to your project. Depending on how saturated your sponge is with glimmer mist, your project can achieve multiple different types of effects. You can also layer colors together to create a faux stone, leather or worn look. Experiment with this technique to find a multitude of options.

Tip#10:

Use a variety of different styles of paint brushes to create different finishes. Since glimmer mist is essentially a water color, you can spray it into a paint tray of irectly onto your misting mat and use your choice of paint brush to create  different effects. One of our favorites is to use a fan brush to dry brush glimmer mist directly onto projects. To dry brush means to start with a dry brush, and lightly add glimmer mist to the brush and then onto your project.

Tip#11:

For this technique, you will use white acrylic paint as a resist agent to customize your background. Since most acrylic paints offer a slick surface after they have dried, this allows glimmer mist that has been misted over the pain to “resist” or not adhere to the paint, creating a two toned effect on your project.

Tip#12:

Use any excess glimmer mist that has been sprayed onto your misting mat. Even if the colors have mixed together, you can use this glimmer mist to distress the edges of your project. To do this, take your project and drag the edges through the excess glimmer mist as to saturate the edges/ You can now take scissors or your finger ail and distress the edges. Because the glimmer mist is wet, this allows a much easier way to distress the edges. You can also apply other sprayed colors of glimmer mist to the edges by taking a paper towel, or baby wipe and pick up this excess glimmer mist and swipe it, blend it or layer it along the edges of your project for a vignette or additional distressing.

Technique #4: Glimmer Screens- Negative

Tip #13:

For this technique you will use your Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens with the Glimmer Mist to create a masked image. Start by laying down your screen on a flat surface so that it lays close and flat to your project. From here, create the fine mist technique forom tip #3, and apply a fine mist to the page. Use a pair of tweezers (we carry a pair of bazzill tweezers that would work great) to hold down the screen for additional support during the spray. Also make sure to hold your sprayer 8 inches away from your screen to create an even coat over the page.  With your tweezers, pick up your screen (you can use your hand to support the screen while your tweezers pick up the screen) to reveal a crisp negative image. By negative image, it is meant that the area around the image is misted, and the image itself is vacant of color, or negative.

Tip #14:

For this technique you will be repeating the t3echniquefeatured in tip #13 by using Tattered Angels  Glimmer screens with Glimmer mist. This time you prepare your page with a light color of mist, and then creating the negative effect from tip #13. What this will allow you, is that you can now customize your project ith two or more colors of Glimmer Mist, the first being the first color you misted onto your page and the sceond and so on being the colors that you mist over the top of your screen with. this again will create a negative image of your screen, yet offer a variety of more colors.

Tip #15:

For this technique you will be repeating the same technique from #13. This technique will create the negative image of the glimmer screen that you are using. the Glimmer Screen offers a base that yu can nw add a detailed image in with yur thin mount stamps. These stamps are created to compliment the coordinating glimmer screen to create a “screen-print” image. The stamps also come equipped with reinforced packageing that acts as a “thin-mount” to support your stamp as you use it. This solves the need for a stamp block and creates a self inclusive stamp set.

Technique #5: Glimmer Screen Postive Image

Tip #16:

For this technique  you will be using glimmer screen to create a positive image. To do this, you will start by placing your glimmer wscreen off of your project and onto a splat mat or paper towel. You will layer a medium mist onto your screen as to give it a nice even coat. From there you will take your screen, flip it over (quickly, so that the mist doesnt fun to one corner) so that the glimmer mist side is facing down. Make sure to do this off of your project as to allow any excess Glimmer Mist to fall onto the mat and not your project. Now place your glimmer screen onto your project. With a pair of tweezers, press down on the screen. This will transfer the glimmer mist from the screen to your project. Because the tweezers have a fine tip, it is easy to press into delicate areas of the glimmer screen to transfer your glimmer mist.

Tip #17:

For this technique, start by applying a fine layer of glimmer mist in a light color to your page. Allow this to dry. From here repeat the technique in tip #16, with a darker color of glimmer mist. This will offer you a multi-colo9red image for your prject. If you decide to not wait as your first layer of glimmer mist dreis, your image will be distorted on the edges giving it a soft almost flocked look.

Tip #18:

Start with the technique featured in tip #16. From here, stamp over the image, with the coordinating stamp. If you are not sure which way to coordinate your stamp with the same direction of your screen you can easily stamp your image first with a water safe ink (such as Staz-On) and then proceed to use your screen on top of this image. This will help you understand the direction in which your screen should be positioned. This image will not only give you a detailed image, but will also highlight, or shadow the image depending on what color of glimmer mist is used.

Tip #19:

This technique will produce a “reverse transfer” technique. To achieve this, start by laying your Glimmer screen onto a splat mat. Spray a variety of colors onto the top of the screen. You will want to cover enough surface that will match the size of your project. After you have done this, take your page and lay it onto the screen and mist so that the entire page  will  lie onto the glimmer mist. Press down on your page right on top of the glimmer screen and hold it down as your press donw and out from the middle towards the edges. You will want to make sure that you press down on the entire page, while not moving the Glimmer Screen. From here, pick up your page and admired the image that has a “haloed” look.

Technique #6: Top Coats

Tip#20:

For this feature, you will be using one of the Tattered Angels clear coats to add a fine mist of glitter to your page. A clear coat Glimmer Mist has little to no dye base and will just add a glimmer to your project. You can select your clear coat by looking at the bottel, if when the glimmer is settled to the bottom your bottle becomes translucent, this would be an ideal top coat. If your bottle is clear, this would be a true clear coat and will not alter the colors in your project, yet will add a nice glimmer to it. If you find that there is a slight tint to your bottle thse colors can be used lightly to achieve a light glimer ginish or be built up layer, after layer to achieve a light tinting to your project yet still add an immense glimmer.

Tip #21:

By layering the clear coat one color on top of the other, you can create an immense glimmer to any project. Again with a true clear coat, this willnot alter the color of your project but will add a glimmer. A clear coat with a slight tint will add the same glimmer, but will continue to add a tinit of color to your project as you build up the layers of glimmer mist.

Tip #22:

For this technique you will use 2 colors of Glimmer Mist, one as a blender. For this page, use a lighter color of glimmer mist on ther top third of your page and a darker color of glimmer mist on the botom third. Taking your clear coat, now saturate the middle third so as to bring the top color and the bottom color together so that they can blend in the middle. To blend further take a clean paper towel and lay it over the top of the page. Gently press down to pick up any excess moisture and allow the colors to be pressed together.

Technique #7: Surfaces

Tip #23:

For this technique you will be using the glimmer mist on black cardstock. When using balck cardstock you can use any color of Glimmer Mist and the dyre base in the glimmer mist will be counteracted with the black allowing just the beautiful glimmer in the glimmer mist to be magnified. If you use the brand new “Chalkboard” Glimmer Mist on balck you will get some of the dye color that will lie on the black creating a semi-opaque finsih. This will still now offer a bit color on your balck.

Tip #24:

For this technique you will use glimmer mist to customize balck and white paper to your needs. Use any color of glimmer mist and transform your black and white printed paper to be customized to any project or color scheme.

Tip #25:

For this technique you willuse glimmer mist to alter the color of your pattern paper and manipulate it to your needs. With teh original glimmer Mist, you will find that you can take a printed pattern paper and transform the background to your color needs without altering the basic print of the paper. This is great for out dated paper that needs a new breathe of life.

Tip #26:

Use Glimmer Mist to begin altering embellishments to be customized to your needs. Takeing raw lace and white flowers, you can Glimmer Mist to customize the colors to the needs of your projects.

While going through my everyday routines, I’ve come across a few very CLEVER and super cute Christmas ideas. They don’t even necessarily have to be used for the holiday, but could be made using a variety of different products from any company. Just a few fun and easy gift ideas to help us get through these last few days!

Glass Tile Charm Tutorial
1. Choose an image from either scrapbook paper, or one of your personal photos that fits your glass tile.
2. Apply Diamond glaze over the textured side of the glass, place image on the textured side of the glass so you can see the image through the non textured side of glass. Work out air bubbles by applying pressure. Let Dry.
3. Trim any excess paper off with scissors.
4. If your paper is not 2 sided or if you do not like the image on the reverse, use any metallic looking paper stock for the backing of the pendant by applying a thin layer of Diamond Glaze or Mod Podge over the back of the paper or photo you used for the pendant. Apply the metallic paper to the back of your pendant. Let Dry.
5. Apply diamond glaze to the back of the glass pendant to protect it and give it a glossy look. You may also use any sealant that dries clear (it does not have to be diamond glaze.)
6. Attach a stainless steel bail with crazy glue, to the back of pendant. Let dry.
7. Enjoy wearing and getting nice compliments on your unique creation.

Cocoa Tin Gift Idea

Here is another gift idea for under $10 that will surely warm your heart.  Today Laura Vegas shows us how to make this fun cocoa tin for the holidays.

 

Cinnamon stick jar
1. Purchase a jar of cinnamon sticks and peel off the store label.
2. Cut a rectangle from pattern paper using the Slice Basic Shapes design card and adhere to the jar.
3. Use Making Memories’ tiny alpha letter stickers to label the jar “cinnamon sticks.”
4. Tie some string to the top of the jar.

 Cocoa powder pouches and marshmallow pouch
1. Purchase cocoa powder and mini marshmallows and add to clear baggies.  Seal shut.
2. Cut a scalloped square from pattern paper using the Slice Basic Shapes design card. Fold in half.
3. Wrap some string around one side of folded square and adhere over the top of the bags.
4. Use Making Memories’ tiny alpha stickers to label what is inside of bag.

 Metal tin box and tag
1. Cut two tag shapes of varying sizes from pattern paper using the Slice Basic Shapes design card. Adhere to each other using pop dots.
2. Using Making Memories’ glitter letter stickers and tiny alpha stickers to put the recipient’s name on the tag.
3. Add a small Fa La La glitter foam tree sticker to the tag.
4. Tie a Fa La La trim around the tin and add the tag using a safety pin.

Creative Bows

Using Making Memories “St. Nicholas” 

 

As you are preparing your holiday gifts, try this great idea.  Make your holiday bows using double-sided paper.

1. Cut double-sided paper to 3″ x 12″.
2. Cut into 1/2″ x 12″ strips and punch small holes near ends as well as every 3 7/8″ increments.
3. Slip end hole of strip onto brad.
4. Take next hole on strip, loop up towards brad, twist outward 180 degrees and slip onto brad.
5. Repeat for remaining holes and strips, then open prongs of brad to securely hold paper.
6. Adjust loops for even spacing.
7. If additional loops are desired and first brad is at capacity, use second brad to create additional loops then glue to center of first loop arrangement.

With Only a Few days left until Christmas, i know we are all frazzled and needing those few last minute gifts. You all know what im talking about, the gifts for the coworker or the neighbor. A Gift you really don’t want to spend a lot of money on, but you want it to look nice. While today i bring you a perfect idea! I came across this the other day and realized it was too good to not share! Making Memories Line Mistletoe is one of my favortie  Christmas lines this year, the bright colors make any project pretty and fun, while helping us look back on the memories of the special season. In this project they used the Making Memories Mistletoe line to create a CD holder! Purchase Making Memories “Mistletoe” Products

Follow these easy instructions to create this gift idea. 

1. Cut two 12” x 5 ½” strips of patterned paper from Making Memories’ Mistletoe collection.

2. Adhere pieces together with the desired pattern on the outside.

3. Lay the adhered piece in front of you lengthwise. Use a bone folder and ruler to create a fold mark at 5 ½” and 11”

Note: You can add additional strips of paper to the front and back of piece if you want to see more patterns.

4. Trim a 5 ½” x 3 ½” piece of patterned paper. This will be used for the CD pocket. Put adhesive three sides and adhere to the inside of CD holder.

 

 

5. Decorate CD holder as desired.
